The scammer allowed me to be his assistant and offered me $500 as my first check. I deposited it, and he then asked me to send $500 through Zelle to this email [email protected], when they previously told me I would be using some of the money to buy toys to donate to an orphanage on behalf of "Joe Marino". The original email I got to apply to the job was sent from [email protected]. I only realized this was a scam because the name is not associated to the company on the check, and other people on Reddit had had similar experiences and identical emails that turned out to be scams.
