We contacted the website to inquire about GiGi - a 10-week boxer puppy. We asked about where the Seller was located. We were told New Burn, NC (***** * ***** **** ***** ** ****). We asked about the puppy's health and shots. We asked how we would pay for the puppy and sent back to the website FAQ page. We asked to FaceTime to view the puppy. The Seller said he wasn't home and that he'd send us a video. We received a video of the same dog a few minutes later. So, we decided to send the money. We first sent a $12 test using Zelle to [email protected]. The app errored and said it was an incorrect email address. We let the Seller know. He said we needed to check our bank. We did and confirmed that the Seller's bank was not responding. So, the Seller gave us his son's email: [email protected]. After the Seller confirmed receipt of the $12 test, we sent $800 for the puppy using Zelle, as instructed. Then, the Seller quoted us $300 to ship the puppy via air. We paid that fee using Zelle (the next day). Then we waited. The next thing we know is we receive a message from the supposed Shipper with a payment request for an additional $1700--for "refundable shipping insurance." We are feeling very uneasy and contact the Seller again. He replies that he warned us that his shipper sometimes requests shipping insurance. Suggests we pay it, since it's refundable. We ask immediately for a refund of our money $1100. The Seller tries to convince us to pay the insurance fee. We asked again for a refund. We have filed a scam report in several places and have called *** ***** ** Police Dept.
