Contacted by this individual who was interested in purchasing my vehicle which I had listed through Craig's list. Made an appointment to purchase the vehicle the next day at 4:00 pm (10/22/2020). Texted me indicating he forgot to request the NTV report. I had no idea what this was. He said it was National Title Verification (nationaltitleverification.com). His request seemed reasonable enough and since I was receiving $7,000 for my car, $25 was ok. I went through the website, paid for the report and my receipt came back through EcoMax. (by the way I called EcoMax and person with heavy foreign accent rushed me off the phone as if I was nothing and couldn't help me) I then realized something was not right and that this potential buyer had no plans on buying my car and never responded to any further texts. When you go to whatever web site they are telling you, it immediately directs you to PayPal to take your payment. It happens that fast and you are out $25. Doesn't seem like much, but they are doing this continually to who ever is selling a vehicle through Craig's list. Trying to get this reported is like chasing your tail and these scammers are getting more and more skilled at doing this.
