I was contacted via email by Jack Corless on 12/1/2022. He was recruiting for Data Entry/Customer Service (Remote). We set up a Zoom interview via email on 12/23/22 for 12/27/22. The interview was via chat only, no phone or face contact. He asked me a series of questions and at the end asked me to give him some time to go through for my score. I assumed this was just a screening and that another interview would follow if I had a passing score. He returned to tell me I was hired and gave me the particulars on the check that will be sent to me to buy office equipment, etc. After the interview, I did some more research and messaged him to say it's clearly a scam and that I was withdrawing. He never replied. I received a check in the mail dated 12/28/22 in the amount of $3650 via priority mail. The letter insert gave instructions on what to do next and told me where to email the info. ([email protected]). I attempted to email him regarding the scam and got a notification in my inbox that the address didn't exist.

I received 2 more checks dated 2/21/2021 each in the amount of $2900 each with another letter insert with instructions. This time the name was Mr. John Lewis. I received another check dated 3/8/2021 in the amount of $5,980 from John Lewis (same return address in Doylestown, PA. The email link was [email protected]. I sent an email letting him know that I had declined back in December due to knowing it was a scam and also asking why I now have in my possession 4 checks totaling over $15,000. I stated I was going to report him but, again, never got a reply.
