She was playing a game on an app on her iPhone, Vita Mahjong, and the Joyreels.com ad popped up. She wanted to finish the video it was showing, and it prompted her to put in her debit card information. She attempted to cancel the subscription but it deactivated her account without canceling the subscription. She contacted them at [email protected] and they had to remake her account for her to cancel, and the instructions they gave led to a part of the app where the unsubscribe link doesn’t exist. There is nowhere to unsubscribe. The website doesn’t even remotely give an option. When she asked for the direct link to unsubscribe the could not share one. Eventually they stopped responding completely. The bank had to file a chargeback and block the merchant for the charges to stop, after a total loss of $202.
