A scammer from a company calling itself the JPMC Fraud Prevention Office Imposter (212-794-4201) cold-called me, identified my name, and said they were from the JPMC Fraud Prevention Office. Was accented, told me their name was David Smith, and produced an employee ID upon being asked. Told me that someone named Brenda Taylor in Miami, Florida, had charged 2500, and then 3500 via Zelle, having duplicated my cellphone number on an iPhone 12 Pro Max. They informed me that the charge was pending and asked me to take down a series of numbers, case voiding code numbers, and a case number ID. I was a bit suspicious and took down the CASE ID # and numbers for each transaction. Then I asked a couple of times where the person I was speaking to was based. They hung up.
