"I would love to buy your vehicle. Is something that I need to know about it before I come to test it? What problems do you have with it? Any cosmetic problems like the one you can not see in the pictures, like scratches?"
I replied with the info and the next day received the following:
"Perfect! Before coming to you to test it and close the deal in person. I need the vehicle history report from https://vinfactspro.com in order to get the personal loan from my lender who in requiring this, otherwise I can`t get the money. I don't want to get it by myself because if it's not what I expected then it will be just a waste of my own money, considering that I'm now browsing. After you send me the report and my lender gives me the cash, we'll discuss the details regarding the date, time and place where we will meet. Thank you!"
That raised a red flag - I did some research and saw this is a somewhat common scam. On the off chance it wasn't, I asked who his lender was, and said I would happily provide a Car Fax that I had already paid for and received the following response:
"Sorry! I believe you misunderstood.. I can't use a report from a different company. My lender requires a report from the website mentioned in my previous email."
