Juice Pharma Imposter - Employment and Equipment Purchasing Scam Reports & Reviews (8)

• Dec 22, 2023

I offered my number on Indeed, because I'm struggling for money and need a remote job. I got a text out of the blue offering a position as a proofreader at Juice Pharma for $30/hr. It felt too good to be true, and it was.

They had me "interview" with someone for over an hour. It was only over chat in Microsoft Teams. They said it was because "the world was changing." That should have got me right there, but I followed through due to my desperation.

The day after, I was "hired" and was given a contract that was in no way fleshed out. It was obvious a company would not have approved something only two pages with vague terms.

I "signed" it, and was emailed a check to print off and deposit. Print off? Am I stupid? No, but I didn't know any better. I deposited the check for funds for buying "materials" to work from home. This included an Apple computer, a printer, and random cables of some kind.

I'm grateful the check had a hold release on it from my awesome bank, because the scammer wanted to immediately have me spend fake money. He also asked if I had the funds to buy on my own and have the check reimburse me. I do not.

I then told him about the check release and said I would contact him later when it was. Thankfully, my bank caught it and saved me. I was also reprimanded for falling for a fake job, but I deserved it.

This story is copy pasted from a long text message. Sorry for any errors in grammar/sentences in advance.

Since I've been in college and have been needing money to pay tuition, move out, etc., I've been job hunting for remote tech jobs. Data entry, stuff like that. I finally got hired by a company, and we've been trying to get me properly situated and all that. W2, company contract, direct deposit, all that.

Well, I give them the info and they contact me back saying I need to get company reimbursed company materials. What are these materials? $12,500 in Mac Pro PC parts, I [censored] you not. I can send the list if anyone wants. Unbeknownst to me, I thought they were the actual prices. They said they'd compensate for the entire amount so long as I returned them (as per the contract. I'm still not sure how that would've worked).

They say they'll train me once I get the parts. They attempt to send me a couple checks. One via FedEx that is held by the PRR department for suspicious activity (and went to the wrong address). One that was by a company based in a different state straight up declined by the bank for not having a "valid account number." I ask the first interviewer about the next steps and get ghosted by her.

About a week later, they set me up with a new guy. He says he'll send an e-check worth $2,450 (and does under the actual company name). I deposit it and I say that it'll take till November 14th (yes, in about a week). Here's the next part of the convo that was today
(Me = M; S = Scamming Hiring Manager)

S: Can you pay partial funds?
M: No, I only have $500 (not really).
S: Can you pay $250?
M: No, I wouldn't be comfortable with that.
S: Do you have a credit card?
M: -Lie- No, I don't have one yet.
S: Who's your mobile carrier?
M: Spectrum (Not really).
S: Can you give me the password and user?
M: Why do you need it?
S: Because you can do temp work if you give it!
M: It's my parents, so no. I don't feel like it's right.
S: Come on, you can get bonus payments.
M: No.
S: Okay, well can you front $250 and I can give you $300 reimbursed?
M: No, I need my funds.
S: Okay, I understand
End convo -

I decided to search the prices of the hardware they want me to get, and it is dimes on the dollar of how much Apple charges (and they want me to get Apple brand stuff). I suspect that their Frapple (Fraud Apple) website would make me pay however much in my bank account to them. Then, after I bought everything from Frapple, they would use the contract guidelines and take the money for themselves.

I received a text message from Michelle Sanders from Juice Pharma worldwide stating they received my résumé and wanted me to interview at through Microsoft teams. I had to download the app. and add the HR manager Lynda Meador using a Microsoft teams invite link. There I was to send a message to commence the interview. After seeing the above scam messages I texted the number back and stated this was a scam and if this was a legit job offer, they would have my email on record and the date I applied. Unbelievable! I’m glad this did not go as far as them sending me a check like the other perspective employees. Phone number is. 708–876–7506. Please keep the FBI involved.

This company contacted me through text message saying they found my resume online through Indeed and felt I was a good candidate. They requested an interview process through Microsoft Teams. The contact name was “Lynda Meador”, who is an actual hiring employee with the company, but it seems this was an imposter. I went through a 30 minute or so process of answering questions and the next day was told they would like to hire me. I was emailed a 12 page contract to sign and send back. The email would not let me respond, and I had to send it back through the Microsoft Teams chat, which was odd looking back. I was then EMAILED a check to cut and deposit mobile and did so, as I was explained this is how equipment needed for the remote position is purchased by myself. My bank flagged the check as suspicious and said the check had a week wait on it to make sure it was legit, basically. This made me nervous and I started looking up possible scams at this point and requested to be contacted by the company. I was told that after I purchased the equipment, the training coordinator would call me. I requested a number to reach out myself and was given 708-586-7937. This did not coincide with the main number for the company, so I contacted Juice Pharma myself and had to leave a message stating my concern and requesting a call back. I sent the information on this possible scam with the company to “Lynda Meador” and asked her to please explain. She responded “Explain a competitive strategy from our competitors?” To which I responded, “ No this is not a competitor strategy.  This is someone posing as Juice Pharma personnel and scamming people. I will call the main office to verify this job is legitimate. I’m sorry, but I am trying to be safe. I appreciate your responded “Okay keep me posted.” I am currently in the process of canceling the deposited check before it clears because it appears a scam to me. Until I know for sure, I’d rather not try to deposit the check unless I get confirmation from the actual company and the real Lynda Meador that this job offer was legit. Be careful out there, as these scams seem to be more and more common.

I was first approached by JuicePharma on Indeed. They messaged me about a Freelance Writing Job, then later about a Service Writer Job. It seemed cool so I applied and interviewed, they liked me, so they said I was hired. All I needed to do was get the supplies. That wasn't suspicious I've worked from home before, but instead of just SENDING me the supplies, they wanted to send me the money to buy it. That felt fake. So, I waited until the day they told me they would "Email me the check" so I could print it on check paper and through my mobile App send it to my bank. I told them I had to go to my bank to print and deposit it. They also said I had to wait 48 hours after it was deposited to purchase my supplies for the funds to be available. So, I went to my bank and they automatically thought it had to be a scam. They sent a $2,500 check for me to buy my supplies without me even working 1 day. She said they've got fraud lately where people will deposit the check and then the sender will take it back, leaving the other person in the negatives.

I wasn't going to deposit that check. So I contacted them and asked (in case they were legit and just doing it weird) if they could just send me the supplies, or even Zelle me!

They INSISTED I deposit the check. Told me to use the App or just an ATM. Then when I told them it sounded like a SCAM they ignored it. Still haven't replied!

DO NOT TAKE MONEY LIKE THIS! THEY CAN TAKE IT BACK!
