I was looking to buy a puppy, found their website and a dog that I liked. I texted the number listed on the website and asked to meet the dog in person. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic they said they would not meet me, but would deliver the dog to me for no charge. The situation seemed believable, so I bought the dog for $850 (which was a 1/2 price anniversary sale price) and did a bill of sale to ensure that they would not sell it to someone else before it could be delivered. The dog was only 2 hours away, so I figured they would drive it down, but on the day of the delivery they said they were flying it so they wouldn’t have to overnight the dog with ground shipping. When it got to the airport the delivery company contacted me and said they needed a $1,497.99 refundable insurance deposit in order for the dog to receive last minute vaccinations and coverage if the dog were to get sick or something were to happen on the flight. I paid the deposit. I was then contacted later in the day saying that the dog was waiting on a layover flight and needed a special ventilated crate that costed upwards of $1,300 or else it could die. I then realized that this was a scam and began questioning the breeder and delivery company about being able to prove there was a dog on the way and they could offer no solid proof, and asked me to trust them. I asked the breeder to pay the refundable deposit for me and they refused to prove that they trusted the delivery company themselves, and they refused. I then found an article about pet scams, sent them the article, and demanded my money back. They never responded to me.

There are a number of questionable aspects about this business that HIGHLY suggest it is a scam. This website claims to sell dogs and cats as a legitimate breeder. I recommend you read all six (6) reasons why it's very likely this website is a SCAM.

First of all, the Julesburg Pet Farm website claims to have a number of affiliations with reputable cat and dog societies, such as the American Kennel Club. I checked with all five societies they claim to have some relation with ("AKC CKC, TICA, CFA, and TCA", in their words): NONE OF THESE SOCIETIES LIST JULESBURG PET FARM AS A LEGIT BREEDER.

Secondly, there is no physical address for this "breeder". Their website only gives Julesburg, CO as a location. This is suspicious given the claim on their website that their doors are closed due to covid, so they only ship dogs/cats. Surely, there would be a physical address to find for the pre-covid business...

Third, their website has an "About Us" section where they claim to be showing a picture of their "grandkids". A reverse image search shows this very same picture to be a random picture they took from Google Images.

Fourth, the website claims to have a Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn account. I was unable to locate their social media account on ANY of these platforms.

Fifth, apparently they only take Zelle as payment, which is impossible to reverse charges on, and is commonly used with scammers.

Sixth, if this business claims to have "testimonials" from 2019, surely this "business" would show up in some sort of review on other websites. Seemingly, Julesburg Pet Farm based in Colorado is not mentioned anywhere else on the internet. Not one other hit on Google or bing. Not one.

If this business is legitimate, I would be highly surprised.
