Type of a scam Phishing
1-432-813-881on Saturday 11/28/2020 at 9:15 pm.
The firstrst red flag for me was the time and day of the week that I received the text, being rather late in the evening and on a weekend.
I do not know of any government agency that would have people working at such a time and day as that, when they are closed for any and all holidays no matter what the holiday is for, they seem to take advantage of it and not have to actually go to work.
( I hope you understand what I am trying to explain and that I don't mean to be judgmental about anyone personally, but that it's just a fact. And, that I, myself would definitely take advantage of it if I were a government employee somewhere).
The message said that they had noticed an error in my unemployment claim and it included a link to for me to be able review my claim.
I've included a screenshot of the entire message that has the link.
It ends with "The Kansas Department of Labour" (which has the word "Labour" instead of the correct english spelling of Labor.
I do not currently have a pending unemployment claim and never have had any claim for unemployment in the state of Kansas.
I (hopefully) have blocked this number from being able to send anymore messages and or calls to my phone.
However, I am still worried that I am vulnerable to this scammer in a way that I have not realized that could be possible.
If you have any suggestions, or information on this particular scanner/hazard or other directions for me to do to help stop these people, I would greatly appreciate any and all future correspondence from you and or other folks in the BBB.
