I was in search of a Cocker Spaniel puppy. “Karen’s Cocker Spaniel Puppies” was the first ensure that came up under a Google search as an ad. The website seemed professional. I reached out in the contact us section and I received a text the next morning from the “owner”. They asked me a few questions about my living situation and seemed like rational things someone would ask an adoptee of their pup. They asked for an Apple Pay and they would send the pup to me via air travel. It seemed like a relatively reasonable thing. I sent a $400 down payment. They stopped responding after I sent it and I got a weird feeling. I googled the phone number and it came up on petscams.com as a number that’s been used frequently to scam people. They’ve used multiple different website URLs apparently and this is just the latest rendition.
