I made an add for A $200 item on eBay. They made the offer for $200 and asked me to contact them on their number for payment information. I did and then they asked me to buy a $300 eBay gift card to “send in the package to the recipient as a gift” they said they would give me an extra $100 for the trouble so $400 over the price of the item I was selling initially. I knew instantly that this was a scam as no one would send this money to a stranger to get something as simple as a gift card. Whenever someone asks you to contact them about an eBay item off of eBay, it is a scam.
