Type of a scam Online Purchase
I was interested in an oriental shorthair cat, so I googled "oriental shorthair for sale." This website comes up 3rd: https://orientalshorthair.company.com/ (they probably pay for advertisement.) The website looks very legitimate and many people are probably buying into this. I was talking to them for two weeks! Nothing was suspicious until they asked me to send payment to some foreign person via Zelle (346.316.8613) or Apple Pay and my bank stopped payment and called me to warn me that this is a scam. I tried twice to pay $1,150.00 but luckily my bank repeatedly blocked it. I did speak with someone directly, by calling the number on the form they sent: 508.296.5514. I discovered this is a google phone. The guy I talked to had a heavy accent. You can’t call them unless you state your name and it is up to him to call you back. He called me back right away. He said he was working for this company and is in charge of processing payments. I didn't get his name. I attached paperwork. Please note that the person named on the document (in Duxbury MA) is a legitimate person and has a dog breeding company at that address. and I believe he had identity stolen. The people I communicated with used different names with Asian last names. Also, they communicated to me via email a lot and I can tell that they were making lots of dictation/spelling mistakes. This is where I stopped and started questioning everything. My bank called me and told me this was a fraud so I reported it to you at ScamPulse.com and FTc. This site needs to be blocked. I am extremely thankful that my bank is smarter than I am. The email they used was: [email protected] (your system wouldn't allow me to put in the email address for some odd reason)
