In the fall of 2021 this handyman gave us quotes totaling $8,950 but collected $5,950 from us in four separate personal checks in varying amounts. The remaining $3,000 was never paid to him and that work was never performed. He wanted checks made out to him, not his business name. He asked that he be paid $5,950 in advance but completed only $3,550 worth of work. The other $2,400 is what we need returned to us. In December of that same year he told us he was barred from his home, his accounts, his belongings, and his work tools. All this apparently leaded to a divorce and forced him to live in his truck. Within days he told us he would be admitted to an out-of-town mental hospital. Since he told us this we haven't heard from him; he doesn't answer his phone or reply to texts. We've found that his cell phone number may now be listed with an older man with a different name and an address in another city. We need an accurate street address to file a claim to retrieve the $2,400 paid for work not done.
