I received a flyer in the mail regarding A/C and duct cleaning which I thought looked legitimate. I called and made an appointment for Aug 23, 2022. The technician, Brandon Mancini, drove up in a old, small car with Massachusetts license plates. He initially surveyed my house and looked for the various ducts to be cleaned. He gave me an estimate of $201.00. I said ok and he proceeded to bring his equipment into our house. He began to vacuum out the ducts. Some ducts he took the covers off the wall, others he did not and just put the hose up against the grate. I questioned him if this would be an accurate way to provide a thorough cleaning of a ducts and he said yes. Approx. 15 min into the job he received a cell phone call, which he answered and then continued to have a conversation with the person on his cell phone. At this time I began to become concerned that he wasn't paying attention to the job he was supposed to be providing us and asked him to please discontinue his cell phone conversation. He continued to be on his cell phone. From the few vents he worked with he created a large mess on the rugs around the vents and did not clean the area. Next he went downstairs to the main furnace and A/C unit. He opened up the furnace cover and at this time he was writing on his clipboard and after approx. 10 min he advised me that the furnace and A/C had major accumulation of debris and dust, which would require additional time to correct. He gave me a new estimate of $2800.00 to correct the newly discovered problems. I asked him to give me a copy of the estimate, he refused. I asked him for his supervisors name and he refused to provide it. At this time I asked him to pack up and leave our premises, I did not want to proceed with the transaction. This was a TOTAL BAIT AND SWITCH SCAM. I did pay him the $201.00 he initially quoted me even though he did not even finish the work that was in the initial quote. He finally collected his things and left our house, as he was leaving our house he flipped me off. This is an UNETHICAL business and people should not use their services.
