I went online to order canning supplies. I searched for Kerr and Ball canning lids. I went to what seemed an official website "Kerr-official.com. Everything looked official. I ordered and paid via PayPal guest using my credit card. I paid for VIP expedited shipping that should have taken 3-7 days. After 9 days I received tracking number and alert that it was shipping. When I checked, it was coming direct from China, though the item is made in the USA as per their website. I decided to look up the website as it seemed wrong the item was coming from China. I found a different website "https://ball-officialstore.com/products?handler=kerr-mason-jar-lids", and went to their contact info "Email: [email protected]" to see if they had a record of my purchase. The reason I checked the Ball website is that Kerr and Ball are one company. They responded to me and knew about my order. However, the emails were from "JH" and it did not seem official. I let them know I wanted a refund as the lids did not have the official logo, came dented, weighed less than real Ball/Kerr lids I had purchased at store, and were overall lesser quality. On their website they guaranteed 100% return. In emailing them, they returned the postage, but were not allowing me a refund or return. I went online again and was able to find the Ball/Kerr phone contact number in the USA by going to their Facebook page. The official Ball/Kerr website is actually "fresh preservation.com". I spoke to a customer service agent who told me they don't sell to individuals so they do not have a website to purchase canning items. They sell their items thru brick and mortar stores. They said the websites I ordered from and contacted were counterfeit scammers. I contacted my credit card agency and they are going to dispute the charges based on what I described above.
