I did a quick Google search and came up with a blog where people reported that they too had done an interview. That the company required you to use their equipment and they send you a check to purchase it from a specific person. Then when you did that their check would bounce leaving you to pay your bank back.
I asked the interviewer if any of this was true. She responded that they were aware of the false accusations and were working with the appropriate authorities to fix it. That this was a legitimate job. I then asked which authorities they were working with. She replied the FBI. I asked which field office, and she did not respond.
The site also states they receive commissions via Amazon (giving them a sense of integrity I suppose). While I was still chatting with her I got online with Amazon customer support and asked them to verify that Kessinger Publishing was a seller or at least receives commissions from Amazon. They do not have any connection to Kessinger Publishing at all.
I then sent the screen shots back to the interviewer and stated that if she didn't answer my questions I would go no further. She then disappeared and has not responded since.
I went back to the FB listing for the job and visited the poster's profile page. Every one of the comments on her page were made by a Nigerian, and every one of the comments on THEIR pages were made by the same group of approximately 10 people. This is is a relatively small group of people who are interconnected and whose posts are all Allah related (i.e. Allah akbar, etc).
Before she disappeared from the interview the person I was speaking with did, in fact, ask me for my banking information so they could send me a check. This is NOT simply a PHISHING scam or a scam to clean out your bank account. This is a group of people using FB marketplace as a means of CLEANING their money - they send you a check, you pay their people with your account thereby laundering it.
I reported to Amazon, Facebook and also am sending this all to the FBI.
