Freezing increased to 6x/month and I finally sufficed to purchasing & installing Windows 7. Yesterday, August 15, they called me to notifying me that they "detected" an attack on my computer and that system security is at 20%. Dummy me, I let them access my computer. I stared at a usage grid for over 5 minutes [this is when they plant a rootkit & viruses in]. Then they close the grid box and instantly knew where to find the problems with minimal troubleshooting. No disk checking. No running Glary Utilities. Just immedately to the problems. Then the truth comes out--the security of the computer is gone (which by this point is) and that it's going to take a $285 "magic" anti-virus to fix it!
I didn't fall for the anti-virus trick, but I am out my $149.99 last February. Apparently this is how a 20-year Dell customer, that has bought about 7 Dell computers, is treated! I realize that this is a 3rd party company, but it is authorized and uses Dell's namesake.
