This was a kickstarter company called ComfyAir that was selling window air conditioners online through their website. No phone number was ever provided. I used a mock one to complete this form. When the item was supposedly ready ComfyAir used a third party email from Pledgebox to request an additional $49 for shipping of the item which by the way was never stated previously. Upon attempting to pay this amount and claim my paid in full air conditioner the website stated an error message and attributed the error to the website of the seller. This was in October 2023. Upon checking as recently as Dec 14, 2023 the website still had an error message when attempting to add my mailing address or pay the unexpected shipping charge. This seller/creator has been reported to Kickstarter who has yet to help with any resolution.

they ran this scam through kickstarter, promising an AI device that could do all kinds of wonderful things. but it was all a huge scam and thousands of people were taken for hundreds of dollars each. They even brag about it constantly. they never shipped the product, just took the money and made up excuses about why no one has the product. now they finally hired some people to build some stuff but it's nowhere near what we all paid for. but they are VERY retaliatory and threatened to sue some former employees for speaking out about it.

but you can go to kickstarter and verify how many people got scammed or you can look in their forums and see how many people got scammed. and no one knows who to talk to to get their money back.

Kickstarter repeatedly promotes fake projects to be backed without verifying. As a result, millions of dollars have been lost internationally via these fake projects, but Kickstarter continues to make money from posting these scams. As they are as responsible as these scams as they continue to host them despite the repeated reports.
