Individual called claiming to be. Police officer gave a badge number, and said the call was being recorded. Then notified me there was a warrant out for me, due to a failure to appear for summons. They even gave citation numbers and transferred me to his “Sargent” to assist. They said to avoid jail time i needed to come in for. Signature test and get a warrant dismissal receipt. For a moment I believed them because i recently moved and my mail wasn’t forwarding right away. I could have missed a Jury notice. When he said he needed me to go to a Safeway desk for the dismissal, i caught on. He said he would remain with me on the line every step of the way. Police would never have the time for that in king county. I asked again for his name badge number, and what judge issued the warrant. He said he needed to transfer me back to his officer to assist I hung up. Always be sure to google the officer, badge number, and judge.
