Type of a scam Phishing
Said that bonding vouchers must be purchased using "green dot money pack" available at a kiosk. He also stated that due to confidentiality rules, I was not to talk to anyone about the situation. Seemed strange to cite confidentiality when he was already discussing supposed legal business about a third party who was not present. He was very insistent to have my cell phone number so he could give me a "mobile escort" while I was to go to the kiosk and get the money.
I asked for his supervisor's name and phone number and was given the same number he was calling from (206) 319-9196. I informed him that I would consult an attorney about the situation and visit the sheriff's office on Monday to find out more. He hung up the phone. I called the number he was calling from and was given a choice of 3 extensions which also seemed strange for a major law enforcement office. I chose one and was put on hold music indefinitely. This sounds much like the jury scam reported on several news sites over the past year.
