We purchased and paid for an African Gray Parrot from this place and paid $1200 (via Apple Pay) for the parrot and transportation to our state of Minnesota and to our doorstep. We were provided with an invoice for purchase. We received a tracker update and pictures of the parrot in her travel cage and it was reported that she was ready for transport via Delta airlines to Minneapolis. Approximately 3 hours later, when we checked the tracking status, there was all of a sudden a "hold" placed on the shipment. It indicated a hold was put on until a $1500 "refundable" insurance deposit was paid. The seller continued to speak with us, preying on our sympathies of a parrot just sitting somewhere waiting for this fee to be paid. Yet they could/would not tell us where the parrot actually was.....When we suggested they pay this fee, as it was an after transaction thing, the "seller" said he didn't have the money right now. He provided another link to us, to pay the fee via credit card, stating at least that payment could be stopped, where the Apple Pay is non-refundable. This is quite the organized scam and it includes the shipping service, although we have no idea if they are actually involved or if somehow this scammer just hijacked their website (Blue Collar Pet Transport). Some of the people and phone #'s provided were to people who had no idea what we were talking about or had no knowledge of any of this. I am choosing not to attach a copy of the "shipping" receipt/tracking since it includes our address. No other personal information was given to the scammers. The invoice, tracking and emails, phone calls etc can be provided if there is a need for it by your agency. As this was a Christmas present, it is quite upsetting to turn out to be a scam not only due to the loss of the money. Hopefully there was not a real live parrot involved. Thank You.
