Please be advised in regards to the Craigslist post and the Zillow post in regards the two bedroom one bathroom home for rent in the amount of $800 a month located at ****  College Street Jacksonville FL 32205 that was posted on the sites mentioned above on August 24, 2020 is a scam. This user has scammed us out of $2100. And refuses to give us a refund. The name of the owner of the property is Kotakadeniya Indika. Furthermore that is who we have been corresponding with. He sent us a lease agreement in which we signed and returned additionally we paid him a $500 security deposit as well as $1300 for the first and last months rent. He advised us that upon receipt of the payment that he would then overnight us copies of the keys to the property. After all of the payments were submitted he then was requesting us to send him an additional $200 for a shipping fee. When we Questioned him about it stating that it was never brought up in any of the previous correspondence that we have had throughout the past few days nor was it mentioned in any of the documentation that we legally signed. He became very demanding that we send him the $200 for the shipping fee prior to him sending us the keys. Therefore we advised him that we are no longer interested in renting the property and would like a refund. He has refused our refund request. I would like to report the scam to you and he should be held accountable for his actions in an effort to delay him from Committing additional scams on these sites.
