I got an email from a supposed recruiter firm saying they has a role for me and needed my resume. When I sent it to them, they said it couldn't be read by their ATS - application tracking system. They sent a link to a free service that helps make it readable. In the letter they mentioned it was time sensitive because they had a meeting with the client this week. When I clicked on the link, the automated servicer said it was experiencing high volume and if I wanted to expeditate the process, I would have to pay $5. I googled how to make my resume readable by automated systems and fixed my resume and sent it to them. The enxt day I got an email from Smart Resume experts thanking me for submitting my resume - I had not submitted to them. I had submitted it to the "recruiting firm". The email from Smart Resume experts was long winded and said, "I have tested your resume on various ATS Systems and none of them were able to parse your experience correctly." it goes on and on. Later in the email they admit, I didn't need the service - my resume looks well written but they encouraged to pull out my credit card, "I highly recommend you consider investing a small amount in ATS Optimizing your current resume". KPL Hiring has a website and is a sham business that is directing people to pay to have their resume "fixed" in order to be considered for a job. Please look into this. They almost got me - actually I did submit my resume twice to this fake business.
