They posted a real property for rent on Trulia. I contacted them via Trulia real estate agent listed. They followed up with text and email. Asked for a deposit to secure the property. I paid twice since one didn’t get through but PayPal and Venmo wouldn’t let me cancel the transactions after I learned they were false, even though they hadn’t gone through. The scammer promised to refund the money but that hasn’t happened. They posed as the owner of a property that wasn’t theirs. Falsified deed papers and applications for us to think it was real.
