Went on line looking for saint benard Puppy. googled saint bernard puppy on 2/20/23. An adorable puppy showed up connected to a website lakesidestaintbernards.com. Checked the puppy I was interested in (Max) I immediately got a text from a person named Allen that Max was available - how soon did I want him? Said he would send me a contract to sign which he emailed from [email protected]. Said when I signed the cntract he wanted payment via Zelle and sent me the Zelle email to send it to :[email protected]. I said my son wanted to fly from Seattle to Dallas to pick up the puppy - did not want him shipped. Allen said he would rather SHIP the dog (My second concern) I transferred money to my checking account from a line of credit on presidents day so it was a "pending deposit" Then I sent via Zelle $500 to [email protected]. The payment also showed on my account as " pending". I figured it was because the 20th was a bank holiday.I let Allen kow I made the payment and he texted that he didn't get it and to send him a screen shot showing it had been deducted from my bank account (My third concern). I advised him that I transferred a deposit that was "pending" because of the holiday and so my payment to him was also pending and it would probably post at midnight tonight (the 21st) Allen texted me and told me to call my bank and insist that they send the money and that they would. OK (fourth concern) I went back on line to the website and tried 6 or 7 tmes to find website and it would not connect. This is when I worried that it might be a scam and I was blocked from the website. So - I called the better business bureau in /dallas and they confirmed that it was a scam - they had other complaints about lakesidesaintbernards.. I was able to stop the Zelle payment - only because Zelle w[censored]ding it up pending an investigation because it seemed to Zelle like a scam. Whew!
