The scammer used Messenger (someone that was a previous pastor at my church) to ask if I knew about the Federal Grant Program via USPS. Said they were helping semi retired, retired, old, disabled, widows, divorced, and workers. Asked if I had gotten my money yet because he saw my name on the Fed Gov’t Eligible Winners List. He said he had gotten $100,000. Said all you need to do is text the Delivery agent in charge on 760-742-5933 asking how to claim your winnings like I did. His name is Larry Bracey. Said to text him and let him know a friend told you to contact them on behalf of of your winning money and ask if your name is still on the list

Of course it was and they asked for name, address, DOB, email, and of course there was a $800 processing fee.

I messaged, what I thought was a trustworthy person on messenger, and they said they did everything thing they asked him to do and they received their money within 24 hours.

Then they wanted me to go to Walmart and buy 8 $100 iTunes cards and let them know when I had done that. Also asked my credit card limit and how many credit cards I had.

I feel foolish for falling for it. However, I cancelled my credit card, reporting it to BBB.

Hopefully the word will get out and others will be aware.
