Type of a scam Fake Check/Money Order
When I open the envelope I find a check that is not actually a check, and what truly is a company trying to sell me solar power. The text uses wording such as: 'Reduction in Electricity Payments', 'assistance program', 'reduce your electricity bill at no cost', 'you will receive up to $2,467.79 in cash incentives'. And at the bottom, a mock up of a check that includes the 'this is not a check' legend well hidden under the signature as if it were the name of the check issuer.
This is a deceptive piece of advertising that misleads the consumer and predates on people's naiveness. This same company uses the same technique on unsolicited phone calls. They should be punished and prohibited from advertising in this manner.
