I hired LawInks to provide document preparation and thought I did my due diligence by asking for her license, etc. She told me that she does not have a license and I later found out that this is a requirement of Legal Document Preparers; they need to be licensed in their respective county.

Donna used the excuse that she is a paralegal and works under the license of an attorney. I later found out that paralegals can only do work for attorneys not per se litigants.

Fortunately, I did not pay Donna the entire 2500 upfront, but rather split it into two payments. She is a smooth talker in my opinion. She did get 1250 from me and I got only one document (cut and paste basically) that I was able to submit, but I am nervous about what the judge thinks of it. I actually asked her to correct some items, but she reassured me it was okay to submit. I felt like it was making legal assertions and was inappropriate and I hope my case is not sabotaged in anyway.

The first thing she does is push you off for a few days and then schedules a conference call and talks like a quasi-attorney offering you unneeded legal opinions on your case. The unfortunate thing is I sent her documents that I wish I had not.

Donna spoke to me so much about a variety of things that it spun my head around, which contributed to the confusion. She then would quickly interject about her time like I am supposed to pay for the unnecessary and casual conversation.

She then sent me two additional documents and there were inaccuracies, so I will not use them, and I also think they take me further away from the crux of my case.

She then failed to give me the supporting document that goes along with the motion that I had already filed as I was instructed to do, but later remembered that I needed the supporting document and needed to contact the respondent. In fact, everything was out of sequence as I needed to contact the respondent first then file the motion and the supporting document. This could be a big problem and I will find out soon.

Oh, and the supporting document had factual errors in it, so I could not submit it and Donna did not provide me with a way to make edits and she refused to do so. Then she decided that the money I sent her had run out, so I felt like I was being held hostage for more money when the work was problematic to begin with.

I was getting red flags and will not send more money to someone who does shotty work and thinks they should make an attorney's wage. She did tell me that she is going to Northwestern Law School, and I do not believe this. Its another way to pull me into the scam. It feels like I had a bad contractor.

I really hope this does not hurt my case. Lastly, I thought it was interesting when she asked me what the difference between a sociopath and a psychopath.
