I received a call from a girl saying she was my granddaughter and that she had been in an accident due to texting & driving and that I need to send $4500 to get my record expunged. The girl was distraught and crying. I then spoke to Lawrence Kelly, esq. who was very smooth, and was told that I needed to go to Sam's Club and get 5 $900 gift cards as the auto insurance was from Sam's. and to call back. I called Sam's Club to find out if they would take a certified check for the gift cards & explained the situation and they told me that Sam's does not underwrite insurance policies. I then called the bank and they told me to make sure this was not a scam. I then called my granddaughter and she was at college, in a class, so I figured it was a scam.
