Type of a scam Employment
For 41 days, I was working without pay for a company called LBM Agency, which was started by Michael Naranjo. Michael Naranjo is actually Michael Nelson, a convicted serial conman from Florida with an extensive criminal history of fraud, as detailed in the linked article below.
While Nelson is not listed as the CEO, he serves as the Brand Agent for LBM Agency, which claims to secure brand deals for social media influencers. The CEO is a man named Dr. Evan Johnson. LBM Agency requires clients to pay either a $5,000 upfront fee or bi-weekly payments until $5,000 is paid. However, LBM Agency has not delivered on these promises and no one on staff, including myself, has been paid for their work.
I am coming forward because I believe LBM Agency is deceiving social media influencers and misrepresenting its services. My coworkers and I were told we would be paid after 30 days, but 41 days later, we have not received any payment, new contracts, or follow through on client brand deals. At least one coworker is taking legal action.
Given Michael Nelson's history of fraud and the fact that LBM Agency exhibits many warning signs of a scam operation, I felt compelled to alert the media and proper authorities. I have included the original News 6 article detailing Nelson's past crimes and encourage you to investigate LBM Agency further to protect aspiring social media influencers from being exploited.
Please feel free to contact me if you would like any further details on my experience working at LBM Agency. Thank you for your time and consideration.
