Attempted to purchase a bengal kitten. Asked to pay using cashapp, which I paid the $750 requested. Then requesting $1450 for pet insurance, etc due to new COVID regulations. Told person not paying any additional fees. Requested money back. Said was going to send $550 back then sent a big "[censored] U!" so did not receive any money. These people have foreign accents. The scan was well planned. There was a bill of sales and a website with the kittens available and the transportation email link looked legimate, but it's all part of their scam. BEWARE!

I looked up excellentmainecoon.com. At first they look legit, but in correspondending by email, red flags appeared like broken English, and non-standard English terms. I asked them to call me and the number (470)333-6863 came up. A man with a heavy foreign accent spoke and it was discovered that he wasn't a breeder. I googled the phone number and found scam reports linked to the phone number under Legacy Maine [censored]. Beware!

Hello, I spoke to the lady and was supper excited about my kitten, I like others thought this was real but after them asking for a $1450 insurance to fly the kitten it had me thinking, then a day passed and they said my kitten got “delayed” due to the crate having issues. They’re requesting $1,650-$1,800. I called the airport my kitten was supposedly stranded at and they had no recollection of the company moon light chauffeur or any kittens coming through. I spoke to the company and legacy Maine c o o n and they told me they have their own planes and run their own so I couldn’t get the airline or flight number. RED FLAG! Nothing makes sense, everything is confusing it’s just few after few. Don’t do it. This place need to get stopped.

Legacy Maine [censored] is a scam. They have a website where they claim to have these high end breeds for sale, even with reviews, then they send you a bunch of photos of the cats development from when it's born to when it is a kitten. They even have a contract with a name and phone number to make you believe it's legit. But they only accept non-traceable forms of payment like gift cards. I should have known better at that point that something was amiss, but my kids were so excited. So they claim they can deliver the kitten and so when the delivery day arrives, I get this email from AUTHENTIC EXPRESS SERVICE claiming they are the mail carrier and they need a $1450 deposit to ship this kitten but they also only accept non-traceable forms of payment. At this point I realized this was a scam. I did some extensive research on the internet and found that others have also been affected. It appears that this group of scammers is also scamming specialty dog breeders as well. I am trying to track them down, have them provide a refund now and have their website shut down.

We attempted to purchase a cat and we we’re asked to pay with American Express gift card (we should has seen this as a flag) once payment was made a shipping company Explicit Pet Carrier sent a invoice requesting 1450.00 for required pet insurance. Once again using Western Union, gift card etc... We challenge the person from Legacy after looking up the carrier and found multiple scam complaints concerning the shipper. She stated it was a competitor that posted the scam complaints. Again we questioned her and all communications ended. The scam was well planned, there was a bill of sales etc...
