I had Googled Legal Aid for Southern California in Los Angeles. I was trying to locate Legal Aid Society like we have here in Cleveland OH. I came up with phone number 800-269-7170. Legal Services or My Legal Connection. I called the phone number. The man that answered asked for my credit card number to put me in touch with a local attorney. He said it was a free seven day trial for $1.99. I thought this was strange they were asking for money and personal information. I never had to pay Legal Aid. After seven days it was $19.99 or $29.99. This did not seem right. I did not give any of my personal information.

I first learned about this company through a phone call. I was helping my dad consolidating his debts. I paid $246 per month for two years. Now I can't reach them. I have all the receipts and a bank statement.

I received a call on my landline today. My caller ID showed 215-550-9524. It appears on my TV as Newtown Pa. I questioned the caller on the company name. They kept saying Legal Aid. Caller stated they could help with my finances and credit cards. They asked how many credit cards I had and how much I owed. They asked for the name on credit card and the numbers. I did not give out any personal information. The callers name was Maryann. Her direct line 844-895-6706. I called the phone number back and asked for Maryann. Another woman answered. She asked who I was. I gave my name and hung up.

I recd a call this morning at 8:00 AM supposedly from my 20 yr old grandson (he sounded like my grandson). The person stated he was in an accident & was in jail. He was in jail because he had been drinking. Jimmy Smith

(330-736-1673) from Legal Aid called me and told me that they needed $1150 to bail my grandson from jail. An hour later I called Jimmy Smith and told him I was only able to get $500 & he told me he would speak w/the judge.

I did not send the money. I also called my grandson's father who stated his son was upstairs asleep.
