From California - I made a deposit on a home being built at Amelia Walk in Fernandina Beach with the clear understanding the the sell of the FL home would conclude with my selling my home in CA and being gainfully employed in Florida. I notified Lennar Homes before the house was even finalized - that the job was only part-time after all ( not full time as promised), thus I couldn't even afford the new house. In addition, my home in CA still hasn't sold. This should have been a normal real estate business transaction where one qualifies properly. They won't answer my pleas for over a month now to return my deposit of $6200. No where in their documentation does it state that they can keep my deposit. In addition, they sold the house I put a deposit on - so they made their money. Again this is a normal transaction for a mortgage company to return a deposit, since I did not qualify to buy the home. I still don't qualify. Wrote the Corporate Office in Miami FL also and no response either. Thank you for you time and considerations, Annette Orendain Evans, 69 years old and no income. 442.254.9461. They took advantage of me. No integrity nor honesty. Jim Palmer said my money from the deposit would be returned. No answer now from phone calls nor emails. Extremely poor practice and business to take that much money knowing I was unemployed and did not qualify! Did not sign the document / Contract since it clearly states the seller keeps $6200 deposit. That is Fraud and a Scam. They knew I could not purchase the home on the salary I ended up with and I left that job.
