Type of a scam Employment
I never applied to this company Lewis Logistics and the email I received about the job included that David Moore was out of town at a summit in Canada and would be back in a few weeks. That he had a lot of chores that needed to be done immediately which could be done from home, the job is not in-office, is part-time and would be $600 per week and a schedule where hours would fluctuate more or less per week.
The email also mentioned that the employer used to be a facilitator for Intact Financial Associates and is impromptu and hopes he can trust you to keep up with his tasks.
At the end of the email, it asks you to respond with information about yourself, such as name, address, city, state, zip code, cell phone number, email address, and present occupation. And to send this information to a totally different email that was used for first contact.
I didn’t respond because of several factors that made the job not appealing for my situation and that I couldn’t find information to a website or person that correlated with the information in the email. Also, the email address used to send the scam seemed suspect and unprofessional. I didn’t respond, and there was no further correspondence.
Months later someone posted to a Facebook group their experience with an exactly similar email to the one I received, questioning about it being fake. I saw that another girl responded with a screen shot her having received the same email with only a few different details such as name of the person who emailed the scam, that a city in Canada was named, she was also asked about her sex at the end, but everything else was worded identical to the one I had received.
