Kept pressing me to Zelle 900$'s..My Bank refused to make the transfer.. Came back to ask I break up to make 3 ...$300 at a time...Called me by phone when I balked.. agreed to send pup if i would at least pay transportation of $300. Suggest I do wire transfer...

I was looking for a Border Collie puppy online and was led to Lexton Border Collie Paradise https://lextonfamily.site. There was a link to apply for one of the puppies shown on the site named Bailey. The inquiry asked my age and location. (I thought this was normal as dog breeders typically want to know their placing they're puppy with a responsible new owner.) There was texting back and forth with Hans Metouge and he asked me to pay $700.00 for the puppy and $200.00 for shipping. I paid with Zelle and Hans indicated he would get the paperwork finished by Sunday evening. However, when I contacted him later that Sunday evening he said he would need his son to help him and I would have the bill of sale and transfer of ownership in my email early Monday morning. I was feeling uneasy about the transaction at this point because he emailed me the bill of sale and within that document it stated I would need to rent a special temperature controlled crate and I got an email shortly after from a [email protected] stating that the puppy would need the special crate at $2500.00 which would be refunded. This is what made me think it was a scam and it is. No contact from Hans or anyone else for that matter. So they successfully got $900.00 from me. I've since done some research and found that these puppy scams started showing up during the pandemic and are making millions of dollars. So I'm reporting this so maybe it won't happen to someone else.
