Call from "LG&E" saying our power would be cut-off in 30-45 minutes for non-payment of bill. We have our account set up on autopay. I checked our account online and there is a $0.00 balance. It was to my husband's phone and he did not answer.

I received a phone call from a local number (same prefix as my home number) saying I had 30 minutes to make a Louisville Gas and Electric payment or my utilizes would be shut off. I am on autopayment so knew this was a scam. I looked online and found a 2020 article that outlined the same scam. In the article, LG&E provided their number to report the scam but unfortunately, when you call LG&E there is not an option to report - you either are calling as a customer about your bill or a business that does not give an option to leave or tell anyone there about the scam so not sure why they are telling people to report it (502-589-1444). I worry about the older generation that might fall prey to this scam and want LG&E to be notified scammers are at it again.

I have my moms number on file with LG and E in Louisville, KY. Well someone called my moms phone looking for me supposedly from LG and E and my mom told me about it. The number was 502-610-5822 and I believe this number was hacked and is a scam.. I am current on my bill so LG and E had no reason to contact me. I called the number back and it went to a weird voice recording.

I received a call stating my power would be cut off in the next 30 minutes for two late bills. My caller ID showed LG&E. The recorded message stated I was past due and owed $503. I offered to make payment over the phone but she couldn't take my information. I was given a number to call. They asked for my LG&E account number and said I had to pay my balance in person at or through my debit/bank account. While they were on old I looked up my account balance online and I'm in good standing. I confronted the lady on the phone and she admitted to being a scammer. Call this number and tell them you want to make a payment. Then tell her you are aware this is a scam and she will open up. I'm cautious and this sounded very authentic, until I confronted her.

scammers call and say the electric was going to be turned off in 30 minutes unless we came to a location and pay in cash. upon arriving at the location they give you near your home and a person would help you at a kiosk. The financial person name was Alex his phone number is 1-800-320-5142 extension 1009. two addresses were given and you choose the one closest to your home, they asked you how long it would take you to get there, and you had to have cash. they also said there would be an investigation and a certified check would be sent if there was an over payment. when you arrived call Alex and a bar code would be given to you. the two addresses they gave me were 2817 DelRed Place Louisville,Ky. 40220 and 1401 Lexington Rd. Louisville,Ky. 40226. My husband called back talked or tried to explain we did not owe anything and finally called L G & E. While he Was talking to the electric company Alex called me back and told me he was placing the order to cut off the electric ,I told him ok.

Caller said my electricity was going to be shut off within the hour. Said I needed to go to a nearby "payment center" and pay $355. in cash or debit card immediately to stop the service tech from disconnecting my electrical. Said for me to call him when I arrived at the center, before I went in, and he would instruct me how to give the money at the payment center.
