I clicked on an ad while I was browsing PornHub. I was offered a FREE lifetime membership to the game I was interested in. They asked for my credit/debit card for age verification.
Later that month I got a fraud alert on my debit card, http://lgfrgngn.com/ had charged me $10.99
I contacted them and told them the situation and since my bank had blocked the transaction they said my “subscription” that I was never informed about nor had I signed up for had been cancelled. No harm done right? Well, cut to this month. After running my check account down to the limit buying Christmas gifts on Black Friday, I get another $10.99 charge dinging me for an additional $30 overdraft fee. I contacted them again, and they claim I’m now unsubscribed, and they claim I’ll get paid back the $10.99. But, considering they got me in this mess by dishonesty and misinformation, I’m not holding my breath. Even if they do come through I’m still out $30 I don’t have to lose.
