On February 13, 2023 I received a text message from "Charlotte Ballentine", a supposed recruiter from "Licella" who said she reviewed my resume online for a remote Data Entry job, but did not say where she saw my resume and did not say what company the job was for. I looked up the area code and found that it was a VOIP from NJ. This was one of two messages I received from VOIP numbers that could not be traced back to anything legitimate on the same day. It might be relevant to reiterate that two different people / companies reached out to me about Data Entry jobs I had not applied to on the same day. This Charlotte person asked me to download a messaging app called Telegram so that we could discuss the opportunity, and said "...Telegram because the company head board in-charge of reviews will be viewing our conversations after the process to enable them give you a verdict and score to determine your status." - I'm sorry, what? I know it's a post-pandemic world and everything is more technology based but this is a major red flag. Needless to say I will not be downloading any apps or responding to the text. I never entertain scammers but this is really awful. There are people that are actually looking for work and these scams are not only painful to experience but they are such a waste of valuable time. I've reported the text/number to TMobile scam (7726), but being that it is a VOIP they can just stop using it and create another one. When will it end?!
