Lifeguard-Pro Reports & Reviews (1)

This is clearly a scam offering a service that will not be provided (no in person instruction component as promised) and providing no certification or one that would not be recognized as legitimate by any employers, while requiring prepayment of over $200 which is to be paid to individuals (not a company) through various 3rd party mobile payment tools and and encouraging customers to provide their confidential banking information by sending them a scanned copy of a check which they can cash and also get the routing number and account number from.

I was skeptical whether this service was legit and very anxious to find a class for my son for Water Safety Instructor. The actual American Red Cross and out own local Parks and Rec department were not offering a class. So I used the web inquiry tool to ask for more details such as the in person component class schedule and cost of the course. The first email I received told me that I could click on More Details on the website and that would answer all my questions, which I had already tried and it did not. When I replied by email that it did not help, they sent another email explaining that the in person component would be offered any day of the week and requesting immediate payment to reserve a spot. They also tried to imply urgency by stating that spots were filling up and very little chance for anyone to get certified this summer unless we sign up right away. They talked about a date of "the 18th" and the day they sent the email was June 18th, so it obviously doesn't make sense since you can't get certified in one day and they didn't clarify any particular month on the 18th.

The name of the individual who said he was sending the follow-up email did not match the name of the email account (email per Outlook is from Jon Marin but he said his name was Humberto Marin).

The scamsters have various user names for their payment methods which are for different individuals, not a corporate entity, and one even uses the word "darkweb" in its name.

This website shows a red cross-shaped logo, confusing it with American Red Cross which normally is involved in many legitimate certified lifeguard and water safety instructor courses. The website is very fragmented and confusing, offering many courses that I'm not sure are really known certifications and not seeming to care which one you are interested in, with many spots to click on that are circular and lead back to the same things. Impossible to find out when you would actually be taking the course or how much the actual cost would be although I poked around enough to know it would be over $200. They try to get you to complete the registration and if you think this is legit you would assume that you would be assigned to a legitimate instructor, date and time if you keep moving forward and complete the registration.
