many years ago my parents purchased lifelock identity theft protection. they paid their premiums each and every month, for years. and in 2020, they both found that their identity had been comprimised by the unemployment agency in their state. someone used each of their names to try to draw it and succeeded for a short time.

they contacted lifelock and explained the situation and wanted to know if there were other attacks on their identity, and what could they do as far as the unemployment being drawn in their names. lifelock told them there was nothing they would do because they didn't purchase their most expensivest plan, therefore, they were not covered in this instance.

now, i dont know how a company can take your money for years, and then deny you help when you need it. not to mention fail to inform their customers if they need to upgrade for the protection to continue as they thought they were paying for.

my parents cancelled their lifelock protection as a direct result.
