My name is ***** ******** and I am writing you in reference to a check I was sent to pay for equipment and services rendered. I am a 35 stay at home mom of two, that loss her job when the company I worked for went bankrupt due the pandemic. After filling out job applications and submitting resumes through indeed I was contacted by a woman named,Linda *****, through email and text on a job offer based on my resume. Since I already was offered similar jobs before from indeed, but was not qualified or picked over other candidates I figured it was legit. I even went and researched the woman and her company and all the information she gave checked out. She was suppose to pay me to be a virtual personal assistant and data entry operator. She said that she would pay for the computer and printer setup I needed, and that was what the money was for. For a recent job offer for ***** I was offered a similar option to receive equipment, except I had to pick it up myself. She recently sent the check in question a few days ago. I wasn't sure if it was real but it looked authentic. My other bank, ******* ****** ***** in ********, said that they could not read it through my mobile app. I called and asked bbva if they would be able to tell me if the check was real, and they said the only way to know is to submit it. Since I was unsure I submitted it to the bbva bank atm because the inside was closed. I figured you all would let me know if anything was wrong with it. I even called customer care after submitted it and asked if there was a problem because I was unsure. They assured me that everything would be okay and it would be handled. I ***** ******** under no circumstances knew that there was anything wrong with the payment or I would have not submitted it. I've had other scammers try and send me money and have me buy things, but never a job offer. After speaking with your Representatives on what is the cause of my account be blocked, I have written Ms. ***** back along with reporting her to the better business bureau and putting her on a scam site so that others won't fall into this same trap I did. I truly did not know that this was happening or I would have never submitted it to the bank.
