Lisa Jayne contacted me via Facebook iMessanger because I looked at her page about her Maine C o o n Kittens for adoption. We started chatting. She told me they are $500.00, she had a few she needed to sell. She sent me pictures and had me join her personal page too see video of the kittens. She said she had a courier who would deliver the kitten same day for $100.00. I would pay half down and the other half when the kitten arrived. She had me use Zelle to pay the deposit. Since I had only used Zelle one time before, I figured it was safe as I had to login to my bank to use it. She had me make the deposit to: Ferdinand Kentchadjin, said it was the account she uses. When the kitten didn’t arrive, she claimed it was too late in the day and that she would take the kitten in the am. That’s when everything start d to fall apart. The courier wanted insurance money and said it was refundable. I contacted the breeder and she said yes pay it. She has used this courier many times. I paid the courier $400.00 for the refundable insurance. I even received an email stating it was 100% refundable. The. The courier wanted more money. $100.00 for a crate, I contacted the breeder she said she would take care of it. Then I received another text from the courier, and he said it was too late in the day to drive so the kitten would arrive the next day. Again I reached out to the breeder and she assured me my kitten would arrive next day. The next day they both would not answer the phone. Finally I received texts from both. The courier wanted $225.00, $75.00 for cat food, and $150.00 because he refused to deliver the kitten same day, and it stayed at there warehouse overnight. I contacted breeder to get this resolved. She claims she paid all but $100.00 and if I paid the $100.00 I would get my kitten. I told her I felt the courier should deliver the kitten as a sign of good faith and I’d settle up when he got here. I told the courier the same. He refused to deliver my kitten. I contacted the breeder asked her to deliver on good faith as I have already paid more for the kitten then was agreed. I received a text back from the breeder saying she would refund my money, and go and pick up the kitten. I contacted the courier and told him I wanted a refund since he refused to deliver my kitten as promised same day delivery. He said he would not refund my money. The breeder took down her webpage from Facebook. Both the breeder and courier have ghosted me. I have all texts and emails and iMessages saved as proof. I just fell for the scam as it was so real until it wasn’t. My cat of 7 yrs was killed and I was looking to bring a new companion home. Instead I was scammed by two people who represented themselves as reputable business owners. I don’t want anyone else to get scammed as I did.
