The scammer sent a fake email string to me through one of the attorney's at my law firm (Teasdale & Associates, LLC) that contained an alleged overdue invoice for one of our clients from a collection agency by the name of Prestige Services Inc. The email also had an attached W-9 from Prestige. I believe Prestige is a real company (they do have a website - psicollect.com). The invoice is directed to our law firm for payment for alleged services by a company called Arbor Construction Company General Contractor LLC. I do not believe Arbor is a real company. The "email" from my office's attorney requests me to initiate payment for the invoice. The invoice also gives wire account information for Arbor Construction. The attorney in our office did not send this email. I believe the fake company Arbor Construction, used a real company, Prestige Services, to try to illegally obtain money from our law firm.
