I was locked out of my house and went to a neighbor who called the first locksmith that showed up on her phone. He came within 45 minutes and picked the lock on my front door. The charge was $557, which I thought exhorbitant, but I felt I had no choice but to pay it. I later checked other locksmiths and it seemed that the going rate was between $19 to $100 (obviously more if there was other work involved). He did not have to replace the lock - he simply opened the door with his tool. I later complained to the locksmith and to the business. They have no website. When I went online to find them, there were other reviews that this business was a scam. The locksmith was David Okanina (213) 507-7125.
