I conducted a Google search looking for website developers to start my business marketing. I came across Logura in the search with great reviews. So I went to their website and searched for their products and services. One of their team members immediately started chatting on the website, asking me if I had any questions and expediting my decision process.
At the end of the chat, the sales rep convinced me I needed one of the biggest service packages, including eCommerce, for $2,500. I took time to think about it and shop around. After I paid and they started, the website rep told me I needed the $1,500 package. Salespeople need to learn more about building a website.
I asked for a refund of the $1,000. The website rep told me he would immediately submit my reimbursement request. He returned to me saying a refund of my overcharge of $1,000 was non-refundable according to their policy. I tried to reason with them that it was not a refund of a product or service purchased. It was the refund of an incorrect charge. I have since asked multiple times with no recourse. We are outside the 5-day window in their "refund policy," and we move forward with the project.
There were all types of complications, including their server being "down" for over four weeks, significantly delaying my business's launch. It took them three months to build the website, after which they delivered it with half English and half generic website filler words. Excited about my website, I started sharing it with friends. They returned to me reporting the Latin words on the website. This was after submitting multiple questionnaires in addition to my documents and content. I was pretty embarrassed, and this person I wanted to recruit to my team did not see that I took my business seriously.
Because they did not transfer my site to Bluehost properly, I spent hours on the phone trying to get them to reconfigure my account to accept their rushed job. I should have known something was wrong when they could not figure out how to transfer my website files without calling into BlueHost multiple times - each time needing my verification code for access. They took longer than giving me time for the money I spent. Once the information was on my Bluehost account, I could not remove the web developer from my account without the site automatically deleting all content.
I spent even more hours correcting the site because it was incomplete and unprofessional.
Three months after the delivery of my incomplete website, looking at the analytics, there was absolutely no traffic to my site. Long story short, they wanted to charge me another $1500 for the SEO I believed came with the website development. What is the point of building a $1,500 website that no one can see? I reminded them that they owed me money and that I would not pay again. They sent over TWO MORE lengthy questionnaires to fill out. As a founder, there are other options than filling out more paperwork. However, I filled the two forms out and moved forward.
Because I didn't have enough hours in the day, I brought in a digital marketing specialist to help me out. Unfortunately, he told me the website was malfunctioning and had no traffic. In addition, the very low-quality pictures they placed on the website made it too slow. So they had my specialist do something to get higher-quality images. They later emailed me that they had yet to receive my forms and that I had to start over again if I did not respond by the end of that day. I did not read that email that day.
I brought in an experienced web developer to complete the site. As he goes through the website, he explains that these people have no idea what they are doing. The SEO should have been built with the site. There was still no traffic, and there was no way I could operate my business, let alone scale my business on this dysfunctional website. The website's back end was done so poorly that the developer said he had to start the website from scratch.
Half of those reviews on the app site are probably from friends and employees. I returned to look at some of the websites some past clients wrote in their reviews. They were low-quality sites, different from the fantastic examples they showed me.
I was overcharged, refused return, server down, three months to build, delivered incomplete, transferred to Bluehost incorrectly, SEO sold separately, and the constant time on the phone and hours writing and re-writing my business information for the site was just too much for me NOT to have a website I can use. I cannot regain lost time, revenue, partnerships, and opportunities.
I am requesting a full refund of $2,500 back to the original card of purchase. I do not believe that they know what they are doing. They claimed to be on the East Coast of the States but truly lived in another country, like India, based on their accents and the time zones/work hours. I had to correct them on grammar and punctuation multiple times for simple things like an address.
