Fraudulently keeping $432 and misrepresenting as United
I told them that I found a cheaper flight than what they were offering me at justfly.com (where I have purchased before). I asked for a refund and the person on the other line said that there would be a $200 cancellation fee. I purchased the ticket and it has been less than 24 hours since my purchase.
The gentleman (maybe same guy on both occasions) was coercing me to confirm the changes that he suggested. At that moment I concluded that this was indeed scam behavior ( felt like scam call).
I don't recommend this company to anyone and ask that people beware of their behavior. The charge has not posted but I already called my bank to inform them and I am waiting to see it reflected to dispute it.

My husband and I had flights from Montreal to Tel Aviv flying out today. We are moving there because we are students enrolled to study there. We had a ticket booked for today but needed to change it so we called Air Canada, or so we thought.... drumroll please:)
Somehow we reached a scam number, that portrayed themselves to be Air Canada. They kept stating that they will check with their Air Canada supervisors or agents, and flight rules and regulations etc. However, they were quoting prices that seemed very high. Air Canada originally told us that because of coronavirus the change fees are waived however, Richard Brown from Lookbyfares, said we have to pay a fee. They told us the price was $469 because we had to pay the price difference between the flight that we have and the flight that we were taking, in addition to a change/no-show fee. He also told us that they would charge $519 but we would receive a $50 refund. In addition, we were told that they would charge it in different charges. One charge of $153 and then the remaining sum. We weren’t sure exactly what was going on but Richard said that if we don’t take the price immediately it will go up. Already feeling distressed about the large amount of money, we couldn’t wait and risk having to pay more. Richard made my husband confirm the price of the ticket via email while he was on the phone using pressuring tactics, therefore, we didn’t take note that the email wasn’t originating from Air Canada (it had Air Canada logos) We rebooked our flights to Sunday, October 25 feeling extremely frustrated that the change was so expensive, and went to eat some cinnamon buns. (Because that makes everything a little better:)
A couple hours later we received two confirmation emails, one from Air Canada and one from an unfamiliar address. We also received a different email indicating our $50 refund from Air Canada (legit)
Immediately, we noticed that something was wrong and called Air Canada (this time making sure we got the number from the official site). The representative from Air Canada was patient and knowledgeable. He explained that the only fees he saw were $76 per passenger (totaling $150) we immediately realized what had happened. We have just been scammed by LookbyFares and Richard Brown (definitely not his real name)! They had charged the $153, which was the actual Air Canada fee, and then pocketed the extra $366. When trying to reach Lookbyfares again, the number we originally called is not in service.
We contacted Chase and we hope they will successfully dispute the charge.
What a SCAM?! I’m so disgusted that a company can prey on human vulnerability, it’s so frustrating! I’m hoping that you can help save people from future heartache.
