I posted a vehicle on craigslist for sale. I was contacted by saying "Hi, I am interested in the 2011 Ford Escape listed for 11500. My mechanic wants to see a vehicle history report before we set up a meeting. I will appreciate it if you could get it from lookupvin.com and if the report is clean we will make a deal. I am from Kansas City." it came from 660-200-9186.

I was very leery but thought what do I have to lose. It cost 20 after sending the report to the number I have heard nothing. Please do not fall for this scam these people are making a ton of money 20 at a time.

I was approached by a buyer, seeming very genuine. Asking for a tittle report from lookupvin.com, and if tittle is clean, shall buy the car. I had put my car on sale on craigelist, and he got my contact from my craigelist posting. I purchased the report for $19.99. Once I confirmed, I have the report, the so called buyer never replied back. A big scam. Pose as buyer, ask for report, and once the money is spent on report, complete silence.

LookupVIN

Listed vehicle on Craigslist and received email from "interested party". Back in forth with info on car and they continually requested report from LookupVIN. Sent other reports, but they wouldn't budge continue with purchase until that report was sent. I purchased report for $20 and sent it, didn't hear back. I offered significant discount and still no response. Complete scam with useless report containing no information. I'm seeking refund and reporting to keep others from using LookupVIN. I posted my car for sale on Craigslist and received an email from Don who was interested in buying it. He asked many questions and I replied to all. On his second email to me he asked that I go to lookupvin.us to get a report on any issues with the car. He said he "really can't make a further decision without report". He said he wouldn't pay for it because "if it's bad then I just wasted my money, but you can still use it however it turns out." I did get the report and told him I would send it to him if he sent me his email address. I did not hear from him after that.
