I left my iPhone in the security checkpoint bin at Atlanta Airport on Nov 5th, 2023 but I didn't have time to go back and get it as my flight was leaving. So I used a family member's phone to go online and report the loss so that the airport could return it to me. When I googled "Lost and Found Atlanta Airport" this site lostandfoundconcierge.com was the first to come up and being in a rush, I assumed they were affiliated with the airport. I found it odd that they charged money because in the past I knew this service was free but I was in a hurry. I paid the fee and they started emailing me but never gave me a working report number that I could track. I asked a family member who lives in Atlanta to go get the phone for me and when he went, the TSA agent at the airport told him that I was scammed and that I should report it directly to the airport at which point I was given the real airport lost and found department and was able to file a real report which led to the retrieval of my iPhone and they shipped it to me in Dallas where I live. Meanwhile, I'm still getting emails from lostandfoundconcierge.com telling me how they have not located my phone and they close the case after a certain amount of time. I can only imagine how many people they have scammed. I filed a claim with Paypal and it is under review. The seller kept messaging through Paypal that they wouldn't issue me a refund so I escalated the case to fight it. That is where we are now.
