This company went around our neighborhood passing notes through the slit in our front door, visibly sticking out on the locked end. I opened and see a phony message with a note saying "sorry we missed you" "someone sent you a fruit basket".

I thought, if you have the "basket" ring the doorbell. If I hear you approach my door, you'd know I was home. So I look the number up and they have been running this scam for years with the same number. Call them up and I told them to stay away from our neighborhood. The online posts mentioned that these people use the fruit basket claim to get you on the phone then proceed in telling you about vacuum parts etc. Scam either way. May be casing neighborhood. May be card fraud.
